Representing a variety of college athletic and academic departments, as well as professional networks, production companies, and student productions, the finalists are spread across four divisions in a total of 20 categories. ![]() Adding to that the growing capability to reach audiences on every platform imaginable, and the investment made in college-sports production continuing to grow, I am excited to see what the next 10 years brings. “The quantum leap in the sheer number of colleges in the past 10 years that now produce the highest-quality video, both live and edited, is astounding. “Now in its tenth year, the SVG College Sports Media Awards continues to be the only competition that showcases the best in college-sports production,” says Tom Buffolano, chairman of the SVG College Sports Media Awards in association with NACDA. He follows in a long line of prestigious CSMA hosts, including ESPN’s Tom Rinaldi and Rece Davis and Fox Sports’ Joel Klatt. The former ESPN reporter is a longtime fixture among college-basketball fans. This year’s ceremony will be hosted by and Big Ten Network’s Andy Katz. Winners will be selected by a panel of judges and announced at the ninth-annual College Sports Media Awards ceremony on May 31 at the SVG College Summit at the Omni Hotel at CNN Center in Atlanta. The Sports Video Group (SVG) and the National Association of Collegiate Directors of Athletics (NACDA) has announced the finalists for the 2018 SVG College Sports Media Awards (CSMA) in association with NACDA.
